(worth a look) info-graphics for nuclear testing – again super concise and easily understood. could be another element/feature into the exhibition space.
    We now have :
    A War (Falklands)
    A Unity (Hip-Hop)
    A Divide (Canadian Independence)
    A Destruction (Nuclear Testing)
An Ending (Look and Learn‘s last edition was on this day)

In terms of data it might be interesting to look at some of the stats that make up figures

Good post Erica really useful.. excellent example of clear information made simple legible and easily communicated. I may work up some artwork like this – limited palette strong use of B&W imagery.

    NODE08 – The exhibition

Similar Diversity is an information graphic which opens up a new perspective at the topics religion and faith by visualizing the Holy Books of five world religions. Communalities and differences of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism are shown up in this datavisualization.

The visual’s basis is an objective text analysis of the Holy Scriptures, and works without any interpretations from the creators’ side. Despite – or even because of this abstraction, the artworks are not only working on an informal but also on an emotional level. The viewers should be inspired to think about own prejudices and current religious conflicts.

    Presentation Notes and initial thinking….

Presentation Notes and initial thinking. 5 Week Block.
Approach the project like an exhibition and develop ‘New’ ways to engage the viewer Consider overlaying images and Photographs to mock up the scenes and worlds. The information could be explained in a ‘Moving Image Piece’  walkthroughs and visualisations could be used to demonstrate the piece.

Areas to contemplate and react upon :

Type – Make text into the Environment:

    * Consumer = The Starting Point.

The strategy and point of reference = The Target Audience

The exhibition begins outside branding and awareness is critical to an experience and awareness for the Visitor = seamless and rewarding .
Concentrate on the detail & micro elements.
Make it Holistic > Make it Relate > Think about the Pace.
What’s The Massage to TAKE AWAY.

Physical issues to reflect upon include details /Fixtures/ Materials /Lighting/Screens/Displays/Mapping/Lattices/Posts/

I would anticipate utilising this project to expand my applications skills in CS5/Maya/Cinema 4D
Also I would produce something ‘Real’ and tactile for this projects and incorporate my love of 35mm photographic film.
For my primary visual and auditory research I shall visit a wide range of museums, including the British Museum ‘Flagship’ retail stores to ‘absorb’ brand Experiences and areas that closely replicate the ‘look and overall feel of our chosen time.
Books/Magazines/DVD’s and a wealth of Online Moving Image Material will be used and my reading list will be published and referenced on a separate page under this blog.

“flow of space between interior and exterior environments both in the private and public realm. The emphasis of the discipline is upon working with people and space, particularly looking at the notion of place, also place identity”

A number of Physical considerations were prevalent for the above installation including acoustics, structure, material, harmony and the relationship between performance and audience.
I think it typifies and illustrates a wonderful piece of Spacial Design.

    Branding Spaces.

“Developments of branding as a material practice has undoubtedly led to a greater degree of attention being paid to the objects, spaces and practices that support various types of encounters between citizens or consumers and branded products and services, the development of branding has in many cases led to the creation of new branded environments.(moor l 2007)

(Moore 2003) looks at how designer brands employ influential architects to create environments which offer a positive consumer experiences that ‘augment’ ordinary spacial experience and replicate the the model of the museum galleries and cathedrals. Branding and the relationship to spacial environments is becoming more important to the consumer
